William Oppermann is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Southeast Networks, a technology services company that brings managed IT, connectivity, communications, networking, and security together under one accountable partner.
William founded Southeast Networks in 2019 after seeing a problem that businesses encounter every day: their technology is deeply interconnected, but the companies responsible for supporting it often are not.
When something goes wrong, the Internet provider points to the network. The phone company points to the Internet connection. The IT provider points to the carrier. Internal teams are left trying to coordinate vendors that rarely communicate with one another, while the business itself bears the cost of downtime, frustration, and lost productivity.
William believed there was a better way.
He founded Southeast Networks around a simple idea: businesses should be able to rely on one technology partner that understands and takes responsibility for the entire environment—from the Internet connection entering the building to the network, phones, computers, cloud services, and security systems employees depend on every day.
In the company’s early years, Southeast Networks also built and operated broadband networks serving rural Georgia communities where reliable Internet access had historically been difficult to obtain. That experience as an actual network operator—not simply a reseller of technology—helped shape the engineering-first approach the company maintains today.
Building a Technology Company Without Silos
Most technology providers operate within a narrow lane.
Managed service providers focus on IT. Telecom agents broker Internet and communications contracts. Carriers operate networks. Phone companies provide voice services. In many cases, the organizations selling these services are not the same organizations responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting them.
Southeast Networks was built differently.
We operate across the technology stack as a managed service provider, network operator, telecommunications provider, and infrastructure partner. Our teams design, deploy, operate, and support the systems we sell—from connectivity and voice to networks, cloud services, cybersecurity, and end-user technology.
That model gives our clients something increasingly uncommon: a single partner with both the technical capability and the operational responsibility to understand how every layer works together.
It also changes the relationship. We are not simply present when a contract is signed or renewed. We remain responsible for implementation, operation, troubleshooting, and long-term performance.
At the end of the day, that creates a win for everyone. Our clients have fewer vendors to manage, fewer handoffs to coordinate, and one partner responsible for the systems their business depends on. For Southeast Networks, it creates a natural environment of accountability: when the Internet connection, network, phones, cloud services, and end-user technology are all in our hands, there is nowhere to point the finger—and no reason to.
That ability to self-perform across multiple disciplines is one of the defining characteristics of Southeast Networks. It allows us to simplify technology for our clients while taking greater ownership of the outcome.
